Al Rayyan face Al Wakrah in Week 13 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:25 at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Saturday, 8th January, 2022.

Al Rayyan, coached by Laurent Blanc, had lost 0-1 to Qatar SC in Week 10, but recovered by beating Al Shamal 2-1 in Week 11.

However, The Lions lost 2-3 to Umm Salal in the last round to be placed eighth with 12 points (three victories, as many draws and six defeats) with a goal difference of -6 (17 goals for and 23 against).

Qatar SC and Al Ahli are also on the same number of points as Al Rayyan, but Qatar SC are placed ahead on better goal difference (-4 as against Al Rayyan’s -6 and Al Ahli’s -9).

Al Wakrah are fifth in the table with 19 points (five wins, four draws and two defeats). The Blue Wave, under Spaniard Marquez Lopez, have a goal difference of +3 (13 goals for and 10 against).

Al Wakrah have a game in hand as their Week 11 fixture against champions Al Sadd was postponed as many Al Wakrah players were infected with coronavirus.

Al Wakrah beat Al Arabi 2-1 in the last round.

Both Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah have standout players in their ranks, so a thriller is a foregone conclusion.
