Qatar SC coach Yousef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 2 match against Al Markhiya.

“The loss against Al Arabi was bitter because of the great effort made by the whole team. There were several factors, including the need for effectiveness in the final third in addition to the circumstances during the match. The main negative was the expulsion of Sebastian Soria, a situation that greatly affected the result of the match. Also, there were injuries to Bashar Resan and Khaled Mahmoudi.

“We were not satisfied with the result, but we must thank all players for their performance and good reaction.

“We are looking forward to a positive reaction in the next match against Al Markhiya, which will be difficult against a team coming from a victory over Al Sadd with a 4-3 margin. That means we will be facing a new challenge that interests us, especially that the club system is characterized by determination, will and competitive thinking to achieve a technical level. Satisfactory and positive results delight our fans,” said Safri.

Qatar SC player Ibrahim Majed said, “We were very affected by the result and despite its negative reaction, the reaction was good, indicating the ability of Qatar SC to provide more effective levels. And with the completion of the ranks with professionals, we will be able to compete strongly.

“We are waiting for a difficult match against a team that presented a positive result and qualified from the Second Division, and this situation usually motivates these teams to present a competitive level with the rest of the teams.
