Al Rayyan coach Vicente Moreno spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 2 match against Al Wakrah.

“This is our second match. We managed to win our first game against Lusail, but it is crucial to secure another victory.

“Now we are playing against Al Wakrah and I am sure that it will be a very difficult match because they also have a good team. However, we need and want to win, and I am certain my players will deliver a very strong performance.

“The only player absent from the squad is Mitrovic. I am focusing on the available players, reiterating my confidence in them and I believe we can win,” said Moreno.

Al Rayyan goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada said, “We secured the three points and the match was not easy. We know the league requires stamina, so we are focusing on each match individually. We won our first game and now we are concentrating on the Al Wakrah match. It will not be easy and our goal is the three points.

“We take each match as it comes and the focus now is on the league championship. The Al Wakrah match will be very important and Al Rayyan enter all tournaments with the goal of winning and competing.”
