Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Rayyan.

“This is the first confrontation for us in the second leg of the tournament and we did a lot of work. We brought in some players. I do not need time, but the team needs time to correct some mistakes and get set.

Some players’ departure was the decision taken along with the technical staff. They are good players, but we wanted to inject new blood into the team. We are expecting a lot from our new players. Whoever left can play in any other team. I saw that it was very important to change. The situation demands that we must work harder.

“We are in the process of building up a team, so the break can serve us well in our bid to find solutions. I do not put responsibility on one party and I am confident that we will overcome the tough situation,” said Ben Askar.
