history
Al Sailiya was founded in 1995 under the name of Al Qadisiya Sports club, the name was changed in 2003 to represent the location of the club within Qatar. Al Sailiya is considered as one of the newest sides in Qatar and have been promoted on three separate occasions to the QSL. The side’s nickname is The Peregrines, named after a bird of prey commonly seen in Qatar.

The distinguished young coach Mirghani Al Zain has been leading the Al Sailiya team since March 2023. He took over from Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi during the 2023-24 season, when the team was relegated to the Second Division.
It's worth noting that Mirghani Al Zain also played for Al Sailiya from 2012 to 2019. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching, having previously worked as an assistant coach for the Al Sailiya reserve team, as a coach at the Aspire Academy, and as an assistant coach for Al Kharaitiyat.
His experience as head coach with Al Sailiya is his first but despite this he has achieved success with the team, most notably leading them to victory in the 2024-2025 Second Division League and contributing to the team’s return to the First Division.
