Al Arabi coach Luka Bonacic spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Khor.

“We had a fantastic run before the break with four victories on the trot and we would like to continue that way and sign off the league campaign on a winning note.

“We had worked more harder at training sessions during the three-week break. The 12 points from four wins was not a small thing. That was a great achievement. The players grew in confidence. We even faced relegation threat at one stage.

“Al Arabi are a different team. Very different from the many teams that I have coached. A defeat can change the whole mood in the camp. But I like challenges.

“I am happy that we received great support from our team management when our performance was down. The club president regularly attended training sessions and that had a positive impact on our performance.

“We were happy that we could show our real quality on the pitch. We are keen on beating Al Khor and taking the good form to the Emir’s Cup,” said Bonacic.
