<p>Al Arabi and Umm Salal played out an exciting 1-1 draw in Week 14 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Thursday.</p><p>Pierre-Michelle Lasogga gave Al Arabi the lead in the 64th minute, but that was neutralised by Raul Oscar for Umm Salal in the 86th minute.</p><p>Al Arabi and Umm Salal now have 19 and nine points respectively.</p><p>Al Arabi, coming from back-to-back defeats (1-6 against Al Sadd in their deferred match from Week 5 and 1-3 against Al Duhail last week), thus suffered their sixth defeat in this season’s league competition.</p><p>Meanwhile, the hard-earned point was a huge sigh of relief for Umm Salal, who are struggling in the danger zone along with Al Shahania and Al Khor.</p><p>Umm Salal, who had overhauled the squad by recruiting a few players in the winter transfer window, reaped the benefit as new recruit Raul earned them the equaliser late into the game by heading in a cross from the right by Mahmoud Al Mawas, the livewire among The Orange Fortress’ ranks.</p><p>It was yet another setback for Al Arabi in their bid to get back to the top-four bracket.</p><p>Al Arabi had beaten Umm Salal 5-1 in the first leg of 2019-20 QNB Stars League.</p><p>The game was evenly fought.</p><p>The Al Arabi goal had a narrow escape early in the match as Al Mawas’ header off a corner kick was palmed away by goalkeeper Gregory Gomis.</p><p>Aron Gunnarsson controlled Al Arabi’s game from the midfield, while their top scorer Hamdi Harbaoui made forays into the rival goal.</p><p>Not long after the second session started, Al Arabi’s Abdulla Marafy saw his shot go over the bar narrowly and Raul sent his shot wide of the target.</p><p>Lasogga then volleyed home a rebound off the horizontal after Yousef Abdulrisag hit his rising shot against it.</p><p>Al Mawas had come closer to scoring before Raul struck the equaliser. </p>
