<p>Al Ahli defeated Al Khor 2-0 in Week 11 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Khor Stadium on Saturday.</p><p>Abdelrahman Mohammed (44th minute) and substitute Ali Ferydoon (90+2) scored the goals.</p><p>Al Ahli raised their points to 18, while Al Khor stayed on eight and face relegation threat.</p><p>Al Khor dominated the proceedings in the first half even though it was Al Ahli who succeeded in scoring, against the run of play.</p><p>The host team forced seven corners too as against the visitors’ one.</p><p>Omid Ibrahimi, Al Ahli’s hero in their big win over Al Sadd in the previous round, unleashed a powerful free-kick and Al Khor’s Mohammed Al Bakri, who had a good game, put the ball to safety.</p><p>Soon, at the other end, Ahmed Yasin headed the ball against the left upright.</p><p>Yasin came close for a second time in the 26th minute, but his shot from close range was sent out by Al Ahli goalkeeper Ivanildo Rodrigues.</p><p>As the first half was drawing to a close, Al Ahli grabbed the lead through Abdelrahman who hit home a rebound from Al Bakri who first blocked Mouhcine Moutaouli’s shot.</p><p>Al Ahli took the field after the breather by replacing Ali Qaderi, who was the livewire in The Brigadiers’ midfield, with experienced striker Meshaal Abdullah.</p><p>After Al Bakri thwarted Mohammed Muntari in the 68th minute, Al Khor’s Brazilian professional Wagner Ferreira had a couple of chances towards the end. However, he could not capitalise on both of them.</p><p>Then came the goal of Ferydoon, who came in for Muntari right at the end of regular time.</p>
