Qatar SC’s Khaled Abdourauf spoke to QSL Website on the 2019-20 season Media Day organised by the Qatar Stars League for QNB Stars League players.

“Even though we lost our first match, we believe we had a good start because we almost pulled off a win against such a strong team like Al Duhail. However, our players lacked experience. Or else, Al Duhail wouldn’t have scored two late goals and sealed victory.

“Our pre-season preparations went off well. We’ve a good mix of young and experienced players. The group is working together well under new coach Carlos Ferrer. We need more time to get to know each other, game-wise, and I’m sure we’ll have a strong squad as time passes.

“The performance we put up against Al Duhail gave us great motivation and we look forward to collecting three points against Al Wakrah in our next game.

“For me, playing for Qatar SC is a new challenge. It’s a new team and it’s a new target, after representing Al Gharafa. I missed many matches due to my knee ligament injury and I wasn’t happy last season. So I look forward to a productive season this time.

“I would say the QNB Stars League is more competitive this season. Almost all teams strengthened their squads with new recruitments. There’s no easy side and it’s going to be a tough season. The results can be unpredictable even when strong contenders such as Al Sadd and Al Duhail play against lesser-known sides,” said Khaled.
