Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 8 match against Al Shahania.

“My familiarity with both the team and Qatar league will be a significant asset in achieving the objectives for which I accepted the coaching position.

“This match will not be easy. This is the team’s most important match, at least from my perspective, given that it marks my first assignment with Al Ahli. Opponents are a strong, high-quality side with talented players, which will make for a challenging game. However, I have confidence in my team’s ability to secure the desired result.

“I took on the role to fulfil the aspirations of Al Ahli’s fans. I believe the squad possesses excellent individual talent and intends to mould the players into a cohesive unit capable of meeting the club’s goals for the current season. I have already begun working with the players,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli player Yousef Abdulla said, “The players are prepared to exert extra effort in the upcoming matches of Doha Bank Stars League.

“We understand the importance of this match and the necessity of winning to maintain our standing in the competition. We will give our all to deliver a strong performance that secures us the three points.”
