Defending champions Al Sadd scored a comfortable 3-1 win over Al Wakrah in Week 16 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium on Sunday.

The win took Al Sadd’s tally to 35 points to remain at the top of standings, while Al Wakrah slipped to seventh place with 22 points.

Al Sadd showed fine flowing form and their goals came from Pedro Miguel (ninth minute), Roberto Firmino (45+3 minute) and Rafa Mujica (57th minute). Al Wakrah’s only goal was scored by Amin Zahzouh (72nd minute).

Al Wakrah were resolute at the start, but failed to capitalise on some good chances that came their way.

Al Sadd opened scoring as Miguel nodded in a Tarek Salman header following a goalmouth melee. Just before the break, the lead was doubled as an overlapping Firmino picked on a fine Giovani Henrique pass to score from the right.

Mujica added third to the goal tally, flicking in an Henrique assist and the ball hit the crossbar before going in.

Moroccan Zahzouh provided Al Wakrah the consolation as he beat Al Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham with his header at the left post.
