Al Rayyan booked their place in the Gulf Club Champions League final with a 2-0 victory over Kuwait’s Al Qadsia at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Sunday.
Roger Guedes opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a brilliant solo effort, weaving past defenders before firing past goalkeeper Hameed Al Qallaf.
Aleksandar Mitrovic doubled the lead early in the second half, capitalising on a defensive error to convert from close range.
The win maintains Al Rayyan’s unbeaten run in the competition, having topped their group with three wins and three draws. Coach Moreno expressed confidence his side can sustain their strong form.
Al Rayyan will meet Al Shabab in the final after the Saudi side edged Iraq’s Zakho FC on penalties in the other semifinal at Khalifa International Stadium.
