<p>Al Rayyan’s new recruit Lucca Borges impressed by scoring a hat-trick in their 8-0 win over Al Sadd in Round 2 of the QSL Cup recently.</p><p>Much more is expected of the Brazilian striker as Al Rayyan look to make a turnaround in their fortunes.</p><p>Ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 9 clash with Al Gharafa, Lucca spoke to QSL Online in an exclusive interview. Excerpts:</p><p><strong>You are playing outside your native country Brazil for the first time. How do you see it?</strong></p><p>I see it as a great opportunity to display my game. I’ve been doing my maximum to make it count.</p><p><strong>What’re your first impressions of Qatar and QNB Stars League?</strong></p><p>This country is amazing. I’ll get to know about it more. From what I already know, I can only say good things about it. The league is very competitive and the matches are exciting.</p><p><strong>How is it like playing for new team Al Rayyan? Also, the atmosphere and new team-mates?</strong></p><p>It’s great to get to know another culture and a different way of playing. It has been really good. </p>

<p><strong>You made your QSL Cup debut memorable with three goals against Al Sadd. Your comments?</strong></p><p>It was a good game. We maintained the control of the game and I could enjoy the opportunities created by team-mates to score goals. </p><p><strong>What’re your ambitions with Al Rayyan this season and also for yourselves?</strong></p><p>When we’re in a club, we think of achievements, and with me it’s no different. I think of winning titles.</p><p><strong>Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa are two strong teams in Qatar football. How do you look at your Week 9 match against Al Gharafa?</strong></p><p>A difficult match. We must always be on top of our game in order to win it.</p><p><strong>Do you expect to make Al Rayyan’s passionate fans more happy this season?</strong></p><p>No doubt. I always want to make them happy. I’m preparing myself the best way and hope to further improve my game.</p>
