The Qatar Stars League Management (QSLM) held a technical meeting at its headquarters at the Al Bidda Tower on Monday ahead of the start of 2018-19 QNB Stars League season, which starts on 4th August.
Chaired by QSLM’s Competitions Department Director Ahmed Al Adsani, the meeting was attended by representatives of all 12 QNB Stars League clubs — Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Gharafa, Umm Salal, Al Sailiya, Al Arabi, Al Khor, Al Ahli, Qatar SC, Al Kharaitiyat and promoted team Al Shahania.
Al Adsani wished the clubs success in the new season, expressing hope that all stakeholders would continue to work towards achieving the common goals.
The meeting mainly dealt with matters related to organisation on the match days, including procedures in terms of arrangements and entry gates for teams, administrators and officials.
The entry points for players, other members of the team, administrators and officials at the Khalifa International Stadium and Al Sadd Stadium, were reviewed. Those two venues will host matches in the first four weeks of QNB Stars League as they have the best cooling technology.
Team representatives were reminded of achieving 60 minutes’ actual playing time in a match, as per the QSLM’s initiative which was launched at last season’s Qatar Cup.
The meeting stressed the need for teams to reach the stadiums well in time on match days. The clubs were urged to include reserve players in their QNB Stars League squads.
The home jersey colours of competing teams were decided at the meeting that also discussed operational details as well as day-to-day matters.
