Al Shamal coach David Prats spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 1 match against Al Ahli.

“We will face a distinguished team with top-level players and a great coach. The evidence is the outstanding results they achieved last season in the league, which qualified them to be in the top four and ensured their participation in Asian championship this season.

“We must start the league strongly, just as we played strong matches last season. Our most important goal now is to achieve a good start that will help us continue our journey,” said Prats.

Al Shamal’s Algerian ace Baghdad Bounedjah said, “We are ready for the start of the season. We are waiting for a very strong match against a great team, Al Ahli, who had a distinguished season last year and were among the top four teams in the league standings.

“The players are ready for the match after intensive preparations with the technical staff, and we look forward to giving our best to make a good start to the new season.”
