Al Bayt Stadium will host the Al Gharafa vs Umm Salal opening-week clash in 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League on Friday, August 15, 2025. The kick-off is at 8.30pm.

This match would be an important test for both sides at the start of the season as each team will seek to begin their campaign garnering the three points to gain a strong boost ahead of the upcoming rounds.

Al Gharafa had finished third in last season, while Umm Salal were 11th and played in the playoff where they beat Al Markhiya.

Al Gharafa completed their preparations for the new season with a training camp in Slovakia, strengthening their squad with Jamaican player Mason Holgate and Spaniard Alvaro Djalo in addition to the presence of Ferjani Sassi, Fabricio Diaz, Seydou Sano, Yacine Brahimi, Joselu and goalkeeper Sergio Rico.

Umm Salal had their training camp in the Netherlands under coach Patrice Carteron, who has returned to guide the side. The team also played several friendly matches during the camp. The club has also made new signings to strengthen the squad and have included Ghanaian Michael Baidoo, Mahmoud Wadi, Moroccan Adil Tahif, Ivorian Jean Kouassi, and Burkinabe Issoufou Dayo in addition to their foreign professionals who continue with the team - Antonio Mance, Victor Lekhal, and Oussama Tannane.
