Al Shamal coach David Prats spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 3 match against Al Shahania.

“We expect a very tough match for several reasons. One is that we are facing a very good team that has performed exceptionally well in the first two rounds of the league. They won their last match against Al Sailiya and came very close to securing points against Al Gharafa.

“We will be facing a strong and well-organized team with many talented and fast players. Therefore, we must be prepared if we want to win the match, which is of course our objective.

“We want to stay on the right track and continue competing with the teams at the top of the league table,” said Prats.

Al Shamal player Ahmed Bader Sayyar said, “I think the match will be tough for both teams, who are both aiming for victory and the three points.

“All league matches are difficult given the high ambitions of all teams playing in the tournament, who are looking to achieve the best.”
