Al Rayyan coach Vicente Moreno spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 5 match against Qatar SC.

“Yes, certainly; it has been a very long time without matches, that is true. However, we utilized the time for training and improving certain aspects. We are eager to play again. We are also very happy to have our international players back.

“I played against them (Qatar SC) last season while with Al Wakrah; they have the same coach and some of the same players. I know they are a very tough team, but I reiterate: winning is crucial because we have a packed schedule this month. I believe around seven or eight matches. It is vital that we kick off this run with a victory tomorrow in our opening match against Qatar SC.

“It would be very important for us if the fans could come to the stadium to support us, as we play for them. I repeat: after this match, we return to the AFC league and it would be significant for us to head into that competition having secured a win in this game,” said Moreno.

Al Rayyan player Diogo Amaro said, “The break was beneficial for resetting our minds and bodies. Now, we are ready for what lies ahead; we have a busy schedule of matches leading up to December.”
