Al Rayyan coach Vicente Moreno spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 1 match against Lusail.

“We are looking forward to the start of the new season because, in truth, our preseason has been very good, and the players have worked excellently. I am very happy with them, but we want to compete.

“I want to think differently. I think this league is very short, and it is very important to start the league, if possible, by winning the first match. My focus is on the first match against Lusail. I want to point out that it will be a very difficult match. And I hope that we will play at our best in all competitions,” said Moreno.

Al Rayyan player David Garcia said, “The goal, as a player and as a team, and as the coach said, is that we are at a big club like Al Rayyan. Our main goal should be to win the league. 

“Besides the league, we have several other competitions and our goal is to try to win as many of them as possible.”
