Al Wakrah coach Jose Sierra spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 2 match against Al Rayyan.
“Regardless of the opponent, I think my team is in good shape. I believe we played a strong match in the last game, although there are some things that need correcting. With this level of performance, I think we have a real chance of beating Al Rayyan.
“Al Rayyan are a very strong team with good players and a distinguished coach who was here last season. Therefore, I can confirm that Al Rayyan are a tough opponent, just like any other team we could have faced,” said Sierra.
Al Wakrah player Aissa Laidouni said, “I have optimism about the team's ability to overcome Al Rayyan, the intense focus of all team members is the primary source of this optimism.
“We are training well, and I think we have also prepared ourselves well. We have trained with all our energy, determination, and desire to achieve a good result.”
