Mesaimeer scored a 1-0 win over Muaither in an absorbing Week 1 match of inaugural Jetour League at the Al Thumama Stadium on Monday.

The winning strike for Mesaimeer came late in the 87th minute from Jean Kouassi, who was alert to redirect a rebound after a strong Youssef Houssam kick was stopped by a diving goalkeeper.

In added time (90+4 minute), Muaither suffered another blow as their player Abdulrahman Al Salahi was shown a red card following a VAR.

Till the deadlock was broken, both sides fought hard and had some good chances. 

Mesaimeer goalkeeper Abdelaziz Mahamat saved two repeated charging Muaither attacks in the 68th minute while four minutes later Muaither goalkeeper Anas Khardani dived to cut off an Eissa Abdelbaset drive.

Mesaimeer’s Cristian Gonzalez was adjudged the Player of the Match.
