Al Sailiya’s Moroccan star Younes Belhanda has affirmed that the team is eager to deliver strong performances in the 2026-2027 Doha Bank Stars League. He stressed that the early part of the campaign would demand greater effort and concentration to reach the required standard and produce results that live up to the ambitions of the club and its supporters.

Belhanda said, “The beginning of the season is always important, and we certainly hoped to achieve a positive result in our first match against Al Duhail, but we lost. Now we must overcome this result and learn from the experience. The league is still in its early stages, and we have many matches ahead that require us to focus and work even harder.”

Regarding the upcoming match against Al Shahania, he added, “It will be an important and difficult match for us, and we know that our opponent will also be looking for a positive result. We must enter the match with great focus and give our best from the beginning until the final whistle. Our goal is to achieve victory, secure the three points, and give ourselves a strong boost in the next stage.”

Speaking about the pre-season, Belhanda said, “We had a fantastic training camp in Austria, which was a very important period for the team, both physically and technically. We worked hard, and the camp helped the players improve their cohesion and understanding. We also benefited from the friendly and practice matches we played in preparation for the start of the season.”

Regarding his experience with Al Shamal last season, he said, “It was a special experience for me and I cherish my time with Al Shamal. It was an important and positive chapter in my career, and now I’m starting a new challenge with Al Sailiya, and I'm looking forward to succeeding.”

“My goal with Al Sailiya is to give my best, perform at a high level, and help my teammates and the team achieve the best possible results.
