Al Ahli coach Borja Jimenez spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 1 match against Al Sadd.

“I look forward to achieving great things with Al Ahli and delivering an outstanding performance this season. The team faced extremely difficult circumstances last season and is therefore striving, along with players, to deliver a remarkable league campaign that will satisfy the club’s fans.

“I am well aware of Al Sadd’s strength and the fact that they are the reigning league champions. Facing them will be challenging and will not be easy, but I have prepared thoroughly and worked to ensure the players are ready to perform at their best,” said Jimenez.

Al Ahli player Driss Fettouhi said, “We have the determination to deliver a different level of performance in the league this season, especially after the significant struggles the team faced towards the end of last season. 

“The team has prepared well and all players are eager to give their best in every match. The match against Al Sadd, the defending champions, is of paramount importance to us in order to achieve the desired level of performance.”
