Al Duhail claimed a convincing 4-0 victory over Al Shamal in the 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League at Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday, ending their opponents’ unbeaten start to the season.

Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek opened the scoring in the 14th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 half-time lead. The Red Knights added two more goals in a five-minute second-half spell. Oumar Sekou doubled the advantage in the 67th minute, before Qatar international Almoez Ali added another in the 72nd minute.

Mubarak Shanan then completed the rout in 90th minute with a sensational right-footed shot from outside the box to the bottom left corner.

The win lifts Al Duhail, who entered the match fifth with six points, to nine points and strengthens their position in the upper half of the table. Al Shamal, third on eight points before kick-off, suffered their first league defeat of the campaign.

Both sides had resumed action after a near-month-long international break.
