Al Gharafa defeated Umm Salal 3-2 in the opening match of Week 12 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Khor Stadium on Tuesday to consolidate their lead in the standings.

The Cheetahs, who had stumbled against Al Shahania in the previous week, survived a late scare from the hosts as they bounced back to winning ways, increasing their tally to 28 points in the standings as the league enters its second phase.

Jamal Hamed netted a brace, opening the scoring in the fifth minute before hitting the bull’s eye again just before half-time (45+5 minute), while Florinel Coman got the third for his side on the 79th minute.

Umm Salal, who remained on nine points, rallied late in the closing stages of the match with two goals in three minutes – Antonio Mance (86th minute) and Cristo Gonzalez (89th minute), but their efforts came a bit too late as Al Gharafa held on to the win.
