Al Shahania are continuing their preparations for the 2026-2027 season following a training camp in The Netherlands (July 16 to August 8), as part of their preparatory programme ahead of the start of a long and challenging season.

The Dutch camp was held under a programme developed by the technical staff under the supervision of new coach Younes Ali with the aim of raising the level of technical, tactical and physical readiness of the players, and also working on developing collective performance.

During the camp, Al Shahania played four friendly matches – against Dutch clubs VVCS Team, FC Utrecht and Dutch Equality side and French club Olympique Marseille.

Al Shahania finished 11th in the 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League with 21 points (six wins, three draws and 13 defeats). They scored 22 goals and conceded 39 goals.

However, Al Shahania retained their place in the top flight by beating Al Kharaitiyat 3-0 in the Play-Off, which pitted the team that was placed 11th in the Second Division against Second Division runners-up.

They strengthened their squad with new signings Amenallah Meherzi, Mohammed Seraj and Abdullah Al Sulaiti who will join the likes of Marc Muniesa Martinez, Andreas van Beek, Francesco Antonucci, Alvaro Sanz, Abdoulaye Traore,  Khaled Muftah, Mohammed Bader Sayyar and goalkeeper Shehab Ellethy.

Al Shahania will kick off their 2026-2027 Doha Bank Stars League campaign against Al Gharafa at the Khalifa International Stadium on August 21.
