Al Sadd and Qatar SC will play a tough match in Week 1 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The kick-off is at 8.30pm.

Both teams approach the match with elevated spirits at the commencement of Doha Bank Stars League.

Reigning champions Al Sadd, guided by Spaniard Felix Sanchez, aim to initiate the season robustly, especially after enhancing their roster with the acquisitions of Spaniard Pau Brem, Uruguayan Agustin Soria and seasoned Brazilian Roberto Firmino.

Al Sadd triumphed in the Al Ahrar Cup by beating Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in a penalty shoot-out 5-4 following a 1-1 stalemate in regular time.

Conversely, Qatar SC are expected to be a formidable adversary in the forthcoming match, considering the preparedness of the majority of their players. They are eager to deliver a commendable performance against Al Sadd under new coach Marquez Lopez, the former Al Wakrah coach, who has enjoyed significant success with the Qatar national team, steering Al Annabi to triumph in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
