Al Wakrah has signed the Portuguese midfielder Rúben Amorim last Friday on loan from Benfica.

The Club General Secretary Abdel Aziz Al Obaidly signed the official contract with the player for the duration of one season, with the option to renew.

A press conference is scheduled to be held in the coming days to introduce the player to the local media.

Amorim arrived in Doha last week and underwent a medical, after which Al Wakrah signed the player.

Rúben Amorim is 30 years old and he is regarded as a solid and versatile midfielder with a high level of technical ability and is known to possess a powerful shot.

Over the years, he has represented Benfica and the Portuguese national team with distinction.
