Al Ahli coach George Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Gharafa.

“I haven’t got much time after I took over from my compatriot Joaquin Caparros. i need more time to make a realistic assessment of the team. As our youth team coach previously, I know all players well and I was in charge in a few Emir’s Cup games last season.

“Right now, we are focusing only on our match against Al Gharafa. We are not even thinking about finishing in the top four. Al Gharafa are a strong side, which underwent many changes just recently, with a new coach and a couple of players.

“We’re expecting a tough game. We are working hard as a group. I had only limited time to prepare the squad for the second phase of QNB Stars League, but we are taking it one game at a time. I hope my players implement our strategies on the field well.

“Of course, we want to improve our position. However, we have no plans to change players in the current transfer window so far. i will discuss it with the club management at a later time,” said Jorge.
