The first game of the day will see Al Sailiya take on Lekhwiya in the 16:50 KO at Al Ahli stadium. Sailiya will be heading into the tie against the four times QSL champions on a high, following their last-gasp 2-1 win over Al Ahli last time out. Romanian midfielder Valentin Lazăr was the hero for the Peregrines drilling a shot home from distance for his first goal for his side on the 90th minute to secure a vital three points for Sailiya’s survival bid.

As for Lekhwiya, they are heading into the tie off the back off their first league loss this season. Djamel Belmadi’s side fell to a 3-1 defeat to Umm Salal, and lost their place at the top of the QSL standings in the process. This tie will be a huge test of the Red Knights title credentials, especially when they are set to play midweek AFC Champions League football.

The second game of the day will see Umm Salal, fresh from their win over Lekhwiya take on a struggling Muaither side. Mahmoud Jaber’s boys pulled off one of the shocks of the season in beating Lekhwiya and will be targeting back to back wins against an out of sorts Muaither team.

Whilst for the visitors, time is running out for the newly promoted side if they are to beat the drop. Muaither fell to a heavy 5-0 defeat to Al Rayyan last time out, and coach Phillipe Birol will have to lift the confidence of his side again for the challenge of Umm Salal.
