Umm Salal coach Talal El Karkouri spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Al Khor.

“This is my first game in charge (he replaced Egyptian coach Mahmoud Jaber who parted ways with the club last week by mutual consent) and I need some time to settle down. But I have good connection with the players. I know 60 per cent of them, having been an assistant coach at this club.

“Al Khor are a side that can give a tough time to their rivals. I am only getting used to the playing style of our players and I intend to make some tactical corrections and plan to make changes in the starting line-up even though I am not here to change players just for the sake of doing it. All players will get opportunities to play.

“Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of our players. All teams have some weak points and there is nothing wrong in defending well. Not conceding goals is as important as scoring them. I hope to make the team fully ready for the Al Khor game,” said El Karkouri.
