Al Rayyan coach Michael Laudrup spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Umm Salal.

“Umm Salal are a physically strong side. I expect a tough game as they are capable of putting up a strong display. That they hadn’t won their last three games should make them go all out and create problems for us. We expect them to make a strong statement while playing against us.

“We’ve injury worries as a couple of our players — Ahmed Al Saadi and Sultan Al Kuwari — are out of action. But that’s ok. I always focus on the available players.

“Our campaign thus far this season has been fantastic. We have won a total of 12 matches out of the 13 we played — eight in the QNB Stars League and all four in the QSL Cup.

“In the league also, we’ve won all games, except the one against Al Duhail. We’re doing our best. There’s a big difference between Al Duhail and us. Most of their players are together for a few seasons, while we had some new players this season,” said Laudrup.

It may be recalled that Al Rayyan had qualified for the semifinals of QSL Cup with an all-win record and, fifth and final round to spare.
