Pau Prim’s last-gasp goal helped Al Shamal to a 1-0 win over Al Wakrah  in Week 18 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium of Al Rayyan club on Thursday.

Pau would definitely have goalkeeper Saoud Mubarak to thank for fumbling what appeared to be a non-threatening right-footed shot from the centre of the box, following a corner kick in the second minute of added time, as the evenly-matched encounter appeared to be heading for a goalless draw.

The win moved Al Shamal to 34 points from 17 matches, while Al Wakrah remained on 23 points.

Earlier, Al Shamal had a penalty call rescinded in the 42nd minute after a VAR check revealed that the decision awarded to Abdessamed Bounacer, for a bad foul by Nabil Erfan, was wrongly called to the disappointment of the Algerian center-back.

Al Wakrah, on the other hand, were reduced to 10 men in the 82nd minute after Redouane Berkane was given the marching orders after his initial yellow card was upgraded to red after a VAR check for a bad tackle on Mohammed Waad.
