Al Rayyan coach Artur Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 16 match against Al Ahli.
“This period is a challenge for us as we need to adapt certain behaviours. And of course, this is our first match during Ramadan. We need to draw on our experience from last season and the players’ years of experience to handle it. We must be prepared for the match.
“We know we are facing a tough opponent in the upcoming match. Al Ahli are a very good team and I have known that from the beginning, so what they are doing is no surprise to me, especially in continental competitions. My focus is on our team because we strongly believe in the approach and the work we are doing.
“The last three matches have been very good for boosting confidence and trying to improve certain aspects for the players and the team as a whole. This is our path: to give our all in every training session and match, and to maintain the same mentality and ambition to secure the three points against Al Ahli,” said Artur Jorge.
Al Rayyan player Ameed Mahajna said, “also confirmed the players' readiness for the Al Ahli match, saying: "Ramadan Mubarak. Everyone knows the atmosphere and competitions of Ramadan, but we are approaching it in the best way possible to be ready for the match."
