Al Shahania coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 9 match against Al Wakrah.

“Preparations for the match against Al Wakrah are progressing well. This comes despite recent absences that have directly impacted the team’s performance and results. Efforts are under way to welcome back several of the missing players and the squad is focused on delivering a stronger performance to secure a positive result against Al Wakrah.

“I hope that this match would serve as a fresh start for the team, helping us regain the form we displayed at the beginning of the season and return to winning ways.

“The absence of three to four professional players had a significant impact on the team’s performance and results. Such absences would affect any side,” said Younes.

Al Shahania player Adel Alawi said, “The team’s preparations for the Al Wakrah match are with the same seriousness and focus applied to every game, despite the unsatisfactory results in recent rounds.

“A lack of good fortune was a contributing factor to the recent outcomes. The players have the determination to deliver a much-improved performance and achieve a positive result in the upcoming game.”
