Al Ahli and Al Shamal will face off at the Al Thumama Stadium at 5.30pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, for matchday 12 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars.

Both teams enter the match with the ambition of achieving victory and securing the three points, especially after their results in the previous round, which concluded the first half of the season.

Al Shamal aim to recover from their 0-3 loss to Al Sadd and avoid further defeats, especially with Al Sadd and Al Rayyan closely pursuing them. 

They also seek to close the gap with league leaders Al Gharafa. Al Shamal currently sit in second place with 21 points.

Al Ahli, on the other hand, are looking to start the second half of the season differently after a disappointing first half that ended with a heavy 0-3 defeat to Umm Salal.

Al Ahli occupy ninth place in the standings with 12 points and are striving to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
