<p>Al Shahania have been promoted to the 2018-19 season QNB Stars League. They achieved it after Al Wakrah lost to Muaither by one goal in their Round 13 Second Division match on Wednesday.</p><p>Al Shahania thus come back to the top flight after a gap of one season. They collected 22 points so far, seven more than Al Wakrah with two rounds of matches remaining, to take an unassailable lead.</p><p>Now, the battle for the runners-up spot is between Al Wakrah and Muaither.</p><p>According to the Qatar Football Association regulations, the Second Division champions earn direct promotion, while runners-up will be involved in a play-off against the 11th-placed team in the QNB Stars League.</p><p>Al Shahania were relegated last season when they lost to Qatar SC.</p><p>This will be the third time Al Shahania are playing in the top flight, after 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons. They have made significant improvement under Spanish coach Jose Mauricio.</p>
