<p>Al Sailiya’s Ghanem Al Qahtani is recovering from a surgery he has had to correct an injury on his ankle.</p><p>The defender was operated upon at Qatar’s orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital Aspetar. He suffered the injury during their 1-2 loss to Al Ahli in Week 10 of the QNB Stars League on 2nd December.</p><p>He is expected to be fully fit before the start of the league’s second phase.</p><p>Al Sailiya Sports Club President Abdullah Al Eida, players as well as technical and administrative staff all wished him a speedy recovery.</p><p>Ghanem is one of the most talented players in the QNB Stars League and a vital cog in Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi’s defensive machine.</p><p>Al Sailiya are fourth in the standings on 19 points after the conclusion of first phase that consisted of 11 matches. They had registered a creditable 1-1 draw against Al Duhail in the last game.</p><p>The Peregrines had lost 0-4 to Al Gharafa in the QSL Cup’s fifth and final round on Monday to end their campaign with only one point.</p>
