<p>Al Sadd annexed their record-extending 14th Qatar league title when they defeated Al Ahli 7-2 in Week 21 of the QNB Stars League on Thursday.</p><p>Qatar Stars League CEO Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan and Qatar National Bank General Manager for Communications Mr. Salem Anzan Al Nuaimi crowned the winners.</p><p>Tournament top scorer Baghdad Bounedjah (sixth-min penalty, 45+1 and 81st minute), Qatar national team captain Hassan Al Haydous (24th and 75th-min penalty), Qatar international and former Villarreal player Akram Afif (53rd) and South Korean midfielder Jung Woo-Young (90+4) scored the goals as Al Sadd took an unassailable lead over nearest challengers and reigning champions Al Duhail, who lost 0-1 to Al Kharaitiyat in simultaneous kick-off, with only one round of action remaining.</p><p>Nigel de Jong (71st) and Abdulrasheed Ibrahim (79th minute) scored Al Ahli’s goals.</p><p>Al Sadd moved to 54 points, while Al Duhail remained on 47 points.Al Sadd had missed out on the crowning when they were held to a 2-2 draw by hosts Al Duhail last week, as they needed to win the game.</p><p>But this time, The Wolves made it more sweeter as they were crowned in front of wildly-cheering home fans.</p><p>Al Sadd made their intentions clear from the word go. And by half-time, they led by three goals to nil.</p><p>Bounedjah opened the floodgates as he converted a penalty awarded by referee Nayef Al Kadiri when Al Ahli goalkeeper Ivanildo Rodriguez fouled him.</p><p>Al Sadd dominated possession throughout. After Al Haydous doubled the lead, Akram had a goal ruled offside in the 32nd minute.</p><p>Bounedjah made it 3-0 to help the hosts take the breather with a three-goal cushion.</p><p>Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira’s men added four more in the second half even as The Brigadiers put up a gritty fight in the second half.</p><p>Moroccan midfielder Mohsine Moutaoli came up with a rising shot, which Al Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Issa Barshim blocked in the 50th minute.</p><p>Meanwhile, De Jong and Abdulrasheed found the target, but Al Ahli could not stop Al Sadd from registering their 17th victory that helped them clinch the coveted league shield yet another time.</p>
