Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 2 match against Al Gharafa.

“In football, anything can happen. You either win or lose or draw. It is good that we could kickstart our campaign on a winning note. But playing against Al Gharafa is a different situation altogether.

“We are not thinking about Al Gharafa’s last match that they lost to Qatar SC. They had a lot of opportunities. They can always make a tough opposition. Players like (Wesley) Sneijder and (Mehdi) Taremi are dangerous and they also have other quality players.

“We also have the quality to continue the campaign in an impressive way. The three points from the first game will stand us in good stead.

“Our preparations for the new season was not easy. We are still working on our game and hope to finish the QNB Stars League’s first phase in a strong position.

“We had changed a lot of players this season. And I am happy that Abdulqadir Ilyas scored both our goals against Umm Salal. It was also about our players’ desire to win.

“There are many teams who aspire to be in the top four, not just us. We recruit players whom we feel will fit into our scheme of things,” said Trabelsi.
