QSL side Al Ahli continued their friendly preperations ahead of the 2016/2017 QSL season, losing to Saudi side Al Taawoun 2-1 in a friendly match on Sunday evening.<br />

All three goals came in the first half, with Taawoun taking the lead through Ahmed Zein on the 5<sup>th</sup> minute. Al Ahli got back into the tie on the 20<sup>th </sup>minute from the penalty spot from Iranian international Mojtaba Jabbari. Taawoun grabbed the winner just ten minutes later courtisey of Musa Al Shammari.<br />

Despite the defeat, the friendly will be seen as important preparation of new head coach Luka Bonačić. The QSL season is set to start on the 16<sup>th</sup> of September.
