QNB Stars League side Al Markhiya appointed Adel Sellimi as their coach till the end of this season.

Al Markhiya had parted ways with Qatari coach Yousef Adam following their 2-3 loss to Al Kharaitiyat in Week 16 of the QNB Stars League.

The 45-year-old signed the contract in the presence of Al Markhiya Football Head Saeed Obaid and General Manager Saleh Al Kaabi.

Sellimi has coached some Tunisian clubs and had technically been involved with his national team.

During his illustrious career as a striker, he played for top Tunisian side Club  Africain, French club Nantes and German side Freiburg.

Al Markhiya are languishing at the bottom of the table with eight points and staring at relegation with six matches remaining.

They will next play Al Khor on Saturday, 17th February.
