The Qatar Stars League, in cooperation with the QFA has hosted a workshop explaining the practical elements to the new Financial Control Regulations, which have been in force since 24 April 2017.

The QSL has been eager to place increasing financial responsibilities onto the clubs in recent years, and the new regulations will now ensure that all clubs within the state of Qatar will now have to formally comply. 

The event was attended by financial, legal and sporting staff of all the clubs in Qatar.QSL CEO Mr Hani Taleb Ballan also attended to oversee the event. 

Opening up the workshop Mr Ballan welcomed all attendees stressing that the workshop was crucial in the implementation of the Financial Control Regulations. Mr Ballan also stressed that the representatives of the QSL and QFA are on hand to aid the clubs in the smooth implementation of documentation to ensure that all clubs comply with Financial Control Regulations. 

The workshop focused on the practical elements of the new Financial Control Regulations, going through key paperwork in relation to financial auditing and player contracts ahead of the 2017/2018 domestic football season. 

Speaking at the workshop David McVeigh, Director of Business Planning & Club licensing at the QSL said. “Financial responsibility is a key component in gaining a club license under the rules of the AFC. In this presentation we focused on the practical elements such as the new player contract and expenditure planning templates, in order to aid the clubs to comply with the new regulations in a timely manner.”
