Al Gharafa captain Wesley Sneijder has been adjudged the 2017-18 season QNB Stars League’s best player for the months of March & April, 2018.

Sneijder scored five goals from four matches during the term, playing a crucial role in Al Gharafa finishing fourth in the tournament and thus earning a berth in the elite Qatar Cup.

Sneijder, who joined Al Gharafa before the start of second phase of QNB Stars League, took his total tally to nine goals.

The Cheetahs ended up with 35 points from 10 victories, five draws and seven defeats. They staved off a stiff fight from Umm Salal who had equal number of points going into the final-week’s action. However, Al Gharafa won the battle after they beat Qatar SC 3-0 and The Orange Fortress were held 1-1 by relegated side Al Markhiya.

Sneijder, a FIFA World Cup runner-up with the Netherlands and UEFA Champions League winner with Inter Milan, also made four assists in those four games after spending 366.8 minutes on the pitch.

The technical analysis of the Dutchman released by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League, showed he made 63.8 passes, of which 48.6 were successful. He scored three of his goals from inside the box and two outside it.

The physical aspects revealed that the star attacking midfielder covered a total distance of 9,215.1 metres with a high speed distance of 480.4, very high speed distance of 76.0 and very high speed sprints of 3.9.
