
Ferriera had an impressive 2016/2017 QSL season, finishing in second place pushing Lekhwiya to the penultimate round of the season. Whilst also lifting the Qatar Cup, and getting his side to the final of the Emir Cup. The veteran Portuguese tactician oversaw his side only loose once over the course of the domestic season, as Al Sadd registered 61 points.
The Wolves picked up 18 wins, 7 draws and just one defeat as they finished in second place. Whilst Ferriera’s side also ended the domestic season with the meanest defense in the QSL, conceding only 23 times in 26 QSL games.
Whilst in the cup competitions, Ferriera has excelled this season. The Wolves picked up their first ever Qatar Cup with a 2-1 win over El Jaish, and are now set to compete in the Emir Cup final on Saturday evening following a 2-0 semi-final victory over El Jaish. Ferriera will now be hoping to potentially pull off a cup double for his side, whilst also taking away the QFA award for the coach of the year on Saturday evening.
