Al Sadd head into their match of the week tie against Umm Salal on a high following their 5-0 win over Al Rayyan in the Qatar Clasico. Head coach Jesaldo Ferriera revealed his thoughts to the media ahead of the Monday evening match. 

 

Opening up the press conference the Portugeese coach revealed his happiness with his side. “Against Al Rayyan the result wasn't expected but i am delighted with how my side preformed. The players where happy and now we go into this game full of confidence.”

 

Ferriera also reflected that his side can gain plenty of posatives from the result. “The game against Al Rayyan was almost perfect, we showed a good performance throughout and the whole team played at a very high level. This shows our confidence and the team that it is possible to get big results against great teams in the league.”

 

Talk turned to his sides opponents, with Ferriera calling for plenty of concentration from his team. “Umm Salal are a good team, who have quality players. I expect them to test us, however I trust my players they know what to do to win this game. We need the three points to be at the top of the league.”

 

“The game against Umm Salal will not be easy, when you come from a big result you have a huge responsibility so we need to concentrate against this side” added the Portuguese tactician. 

 

Ferriera ended the press conference revealing that his squad will step up in the absence of Jurgutha Hamroun  “All players are very important, Hamroun is missing for this game and the team who will replace him will be ready. His absence will not effect the collective spirit of the team going into the game.” 

 

 

Umm Salal are currently sixth in the QSL standings and will be targeting to inflict Al Sadd’s first defeat of the season on Monday evening. Umm Salal head coach Bülent Uygun spoke to the media ahead of the game. 

 

Opening up the press conference Uygun called for a big reaction from his side. “Our last game against Al Gharafa wasn't expected. We will  have to prove that we can compete in the league and we have to show this against Al Sadd.”

 

The Turkish coach also revealed that two key players are in doubt for the game. “I expect all of my players to be fit and prepared for this game, Anderson Martins and Sagbo have slight injuries and we will look to their fitness ahead of the game.”

 

“We have to respect Al Sadd who have strong players, but we also have strong players it will be all about how we work our game plan. If we play well we can get a strong result” added Uygun at the Sunday pre match press conference. 

 

Uygun  ended the press conference suggesting that his side can compete for the top four places despite being sixth place in the standings. “Our campaign is good despite the injuries and the problems that we have faced and I am confident we will be able to push for our top four goal.”
