It was goals galore as Al Ahli grabbed their first win defeating Al Wakrah 5-3 in Week 4 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Thumama Stadium on Saturday.

The win also saw Al Ahli log their first points (three), while Al Wakrah’s tally stood at seven points.

Al Ahli’s goals came from Fahad Waad (eighth minute own goal), Michel Vlap (27th & 72nd minutes), Suhaib Gannan (42nd minute) and Julian Draxler (89 minute).

For Al Wakrah, Redouane Berkane (16th & 46th minutes) and Amin Zahzouh (35th minute penalty) scored.

Al Wakrah suffered an early setback when Waad headed a corner kick into his own goal. The Blue Wave hit back, with Algerian Berkane striking past a diving goalkeeper.

Al Ahli’s recent Dutch recruit Vlap showed his class by making it 2-1. But a penalty strike by Zahzouh saw Al Wakrah make it 2-2.

Gannan struck for Al Ahli just before the break to give them a 3-2 lead.

Soon, Al Wakrah hit back as Berkane scored off a Zahzouh assist to equalize again (3-3).

Al Ahli dashed ahead as Vlap scored off a Draxler assist (4-2) before German Draxler struck from centre inside the box to make it 5-3 for the winners.
