Al Rayyan coach Arthur Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 4 match against Qatar SC.

“We had ample time to prepare for this match. We know that Qatar SC have great motivation after achieving three wins in three matches. We have developed our team through new signings. The preparations were like any other match, but the difference is that we had time to prepare the team thoroughly. We have a strong motivation to win and continue on the right path. We are ready to face a tough opponent and we are focused on ourselves and what we can do.

“Our ambitions for this season are high. We are now talking about new signings, but we had three matches before these signings and succeeded in achieving positive results. This is the natural path for us, because we have a clear goal this season. We are happy with the signings that meet the team’s aspirations and when we have these types of signings, it helps us achieve our desired goals.

“Our ambition is to compete for championships and remain in first place in all tournaments in which we compete,” said Arthur Jorge.

Al Rayyan goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada said, “The preparations are at the highest level and the coach has equipped the team with the basic things it needs for this match. The match will not be easy for either team and we aspire to achieve the three points as it is an important match for the team and the overall league standings.

“As for my joining the national team, this did not come out of nowhere, but rather from the support of the coach, the technical and administrative staff, and the help of the players. I aspire to be in the national team because it is an honour for me and the club. As for the Qatar SC match, we will enter it with the highest concentration in order to please the fans and win the match.”
