Al Shamal scored their second successive win of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League by beating a 10-man Al Rayyan 4-2 at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.
Al Rayyan’s Mohamed Surag was flashed with the red card in 45+3 minute after he stepped on the toes of Mohammed Omar of Al Shamal. Al Rayyan led 2-1 at half time.
Three goals were scored within four minutes followed by the red card, four minutes later.
Al Shamal began the goal-scoring in the 40th minute as Baghdad Bounedjah provided a cross for Mohammed Omar to score from the left.
Al Rayyan hit back in the 42nd minute as Ahmed Alaaeldin headed home after David Garcia volleyed a cross lob to him following a free-kick.
Alaaeldin scored again in the 44th minute from a fine pass by Gavin Pereira from the right.
Al Shamal found the equalizer post break in the 56th minute after Omar won a battle for the ball from Abdalla Yousif and sent in a cross which was deflected into his own goal by Al Rayyan’s Gregore.
Bounedjah made it 3-2 for Al Shamal from a penalty kick awarded in 90+1 minute after Al Rayyan’s Roger Guedes while sliding spiked the shin of Al Shamal’s Tamer Seyam.
Bounedjah then provided assist to Omar Ali (90+4’), who flicked the ball in to make it 4-2 for Al Shamal.
