Al Shamal coach Hicham Jadrane spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Qatar SC.

“Facing Qatar SC is not easy at all. Our rival is a strong team and includes players of top quality, but Al Shamal also have players of the highest level. My players are ready to present a strong show and achieve a positive result.

“We lost in the last match against Al Sailiya, but my team proved that it has the ability to match the big teams in the QNB Stars League. I know my team can play well against top sides. The players also started gaining confidence from one game to another, which is a very good thing. We shall build on this confidence.

“All I hope is that we avoid silly mistakes that cost us a lot and consequently we lost points. But at the same time, we are happy with good levels the team is providing and we are waiting for this good performance to turn into positive results in the upcoming matches,” said Hicham.

Al Shamal player Khalifa Al Maliki said, “We feel our match against Qatar SC will be difficult. It will be difficult for both sides since both teams are coming from a loss in the second round of the league. Both sides are seeking compensation after Round 2 defeats.

“Our ambition is that we want to strive to collect the three points and achieve the first victory of the new season. We realize that the task will not be easy against a team like Qatar SC, but we will try with all our might to achieve the goal, which is victory.

“We have forgotten the result of last round. That chapter is closed. We have to focus on the next match. The technical staff have shown what we did in the last game and we want to avoid those mistakes in the third round.”
